Epoxy Floor Coatings in Warehouses

The importance of safe and durable flooring

Warehouse workers are constantly on the move shifting goods around and packing products, so the floors that underneath them must be safe and slip-free. Properly installed and maintained warehouse floor paint serves to enhance their durability and longevity. These durable floors must also promote the safety and well-being of all warehouse personnel.

Why does anti-slip flooring matter?

Slips and falls are among the most common injuries in warehouses. Not only is your business liable for these accidents and related expenses, but it will also see a decline in productivity whenever someone gets hurt. So, no matter what, these injuries will negatively impact your bottom line and your reputation.

Investing in a non-slip epoxy floor coating will ensure a safer and more productive environment for your workers. Anti-slip flooring is resistant to moisture and has a high friction coefficient, making it very difficult for personnel and equipment to slide along the surface. These floors are especially important in high-traffic areas of warehouses.

Types of anti-slip flooring solutions

Slip-resistant floors come in many different forms such as urethane cement flooring, rubber and various types of epoxy coatings.

Epoxy floor coatings

Epoxy floor coatings are commonly used for commercial and industrial flooring. Epoxy coatings are normally applied over concrete floors to provide a high-performance, smooth, and durable surface. Many industrial sites, warehouses, and commercial buildings rely on epoxy floors to maintain clean and safe conditions for workers, equipment, and inventory.

Epoxy floor coating advantages

Epoxy floor coatings offer many advantages when compared to other traditional coatings applied over concrete, it offers a hard-wearing durable surface able to withstand heavy and continuous traffic, creates a shiny high-gloss surface that can significantly increase the brightness of interior areas, it’s durable and easy to clean, offers enhanced safety when the surface contains anti-slip additives, and requires little or no major maintenance.

What is epoxy flooring?

The difference between an epoxy floor and an epoxy floor coating lies in the depth of the epoxy. An epoxy floor must be at least two millimetres thick.  Any epoxy floor that is less than two millimetres thick is referred to as an epoxy floor coating.
