As far as practical, we will program works so that painting is completed to the top of the building first, to ensure that finished paintwork is not adversely affected by paint splatters. Similarly, all building projections service pipes etc. will be masked up and covered with drop sheets and protected as far as practical.
We will remove all necessary fixtures before starting to paint and re-fix on completion of painting. We will ensure drop sheets and dust sheets are used extensively to protect all unpainted surfaces not scheduled for painting. We will place “Wet paint” warning notices conspicuously until paint is dry.
We will clean off marks, paint spots and stains progressively and restore damaged surfaces to their original condition. We will touch up damaged decorative paintwork or misses only with the paint batch used in the original application.
All surfaces are cleaned to remove dirt and grime
Mould or mildew-affected areas are cleaned with a bleach containing sodium hypochlorite.
Cracks and holes (3mm depth & above), dominant irregularities, application defects, depressions, scratches or inconsistent textures are filled and sanded smooth.
We use primers and sealers for the substrate prior to applying undercoat and top coats.
We caulk and gap fill where required for areas such as panelling, door frames, skirting and windows.
We apply an undercoat, allow plaster to correct irregularities and defects and reapply an undercoat to all patches prior to completing subsequent coats. We sand all surfaces between coats.
Unless otherwise stated, our standard painting quotations are based on undercoat, spot priming, followed by two coats of premium grade Dulux paints.
As an accredited Dulux provider, we keep record of all purchases on behalf of our clients to support Dulux’s Five (5) Year Product Warranty. At any stage during the five-year warranty period, a fresh coat of Dulux may be applied if premature coating failure has occurred, subject to the conditions laid out in their Warranty Document.
