Epoxy floor coating is a protective flooring solution that transforms worn and damaged flooring. Concrete surfaces coated in epoxy last longer, resist considerable wear, and since surfaces are no longer porous, they are easier to clean and maintain.
Epoxy paint is an excellent choice for garage, basement and patio floors as it is resistant to scratching and grazing, meaning that it won’t be damaged by the general wear-and-tear of daily life. It is often used in shopping centres, warehouses, schools, showrooms, workshops, commercial kitchens, and plant & equipment rooms.
Our team are experts in the preparation and application for epoxy floor coatings. We are engaged by hundreds of commercial clients annually to inspect, prep, and apply epoxy floor coatings and can execute the job with no production downtime or interuption to trading.
Epoxy refers to a system made up of resins and hardeners, which react chemically to form a rigid plastic material that is strong, resistant to degradation, and bonds extremely well to its substrate.
Epoxy floors are perfect for basements, garages, industrial areas, high traffic areas – almost any floor that has a concrete substrate.
We use Dulux products which are fast drying, non-slip, UV resistant, low VOC, low odour, water-resistant, and can be colourised to match your décor.
As a general rule, though, epoxy flooring costs anywhere from around $30-$35 per square metre for two coats over a prepared concrete surface to $80-$100 per square metre for a decorative finish after diamond grinding the concrete.
3 Colours Painting was engaged to prepare and protect a dilapidated concrete floor, in a plant room at the top of a building in the CBD. The floor was abraded to remove loose and spalling concrete, acid washed to clean and remove dirt, grease etc and then a hard wearing, two pack epoxy – Luxafloor PTX – was applied to protect the floor .
