3 Colours was engaged to restore this beautiful heritage apartment complex in Summer Hill, which was in urgent need of repair and repainting. Over time, the building’s timberwork and substrate had suffered from extensive deterioration, with rotting window and door frames and failing coatings compromising the façade’s integrity.
Our objective was to revitalise the building while maintaining its historical character. The outdated lime green colour scheme was replaced with a sophisticated modern grey palette, enhancing the property’s architectural details and street appeal.
Working on a heritage property required careful attention to original detailing and materials. Many of the window and door frames required structural repair before painting could commence, demanding precision and coordination across multiple trades.
The project successfully restored the building’s original elegance while modernising its appearance. The refreshed grey tones highlight the intricate decorative mouldings and bring renewed prestige to the property. The outstanding workmanship earned 3 Colours a Master Painters of Australia Award for Excellence.
