This project required rope access painters to prepare and repaint the exterior surfaces of St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst. It also included the interior of seven levels of common areas and four levels of parking/garage areas, and seven exterior levels with twenty-one balconies in total. The scope of works included walls, ceilings, fire staircases, toilets, doors, frames, exterior facade, lift doors, balcony soffits, metal railings, spalling repairs, colourbond sheeting structure, steel structure holding screens, aluminium windows, timber service doors and epoxy floor coating around the car park lifts. The painting system used was Dulux.
The challenges for this project included special conditions and a limited timeframe to work on the MRI room, only night and weekend work was permitted for the interiors, with all areas cleaned, free from equipment and ready for normal hospital operations at 8am each morning. Other challenges included the logistics and safety coordination to allow for the exterior to be refurbished and repainted by our rope access painters.
